A Saturday in Tigre: fairs, crafts and shared moments

A few kilometers from the city of Buenos Aires is Tigre, a town with a very special charm.

Surrounded by the rivers and canals of the Paraná Delta, it offers a perfect combination of nature, outdoor walks, craft fairs and corners full of history.

It is one of those places that I always enjoy returning to because each visit has something different to discover, but that Saturday in September 2019 was especially nice because I shared it with two very important people in my life: my daughter and my sister.

Since we arrived, the atmosphere invited us to walk without haste: the streets were full of movement, the craft stalls exhibited their creations and the air had that characteristic mix of weekend stroll and life by the river.

Visiting the Tigre fairs is always an entertaining experience because there are decorative objects, wood works, leather goods, furniture, paintings, fabrics, handmade jewelry and a huge variety of products that reflect the talent and creativity of the artisans.

Each position has its own story and something always appears that catches your attention.

We stopped many times to observe the details of the crafts, talk with some of the exhibitors, discover unique pieces that could hardly be found anywhere else and we took the opportunity to make some purchases of original objects.

We also liked going into some of the businesses in the area, looking in shop windows and being surprised by the variety of proposals that Tigre offers.

It is one of those destinations where there is always something to discover, even for those who visit frequently.

As we walked, time seemed to pass more slowly.

Conversations flowed naturally, remembering anecdotes, sharing projects and simply enjoying being together.

One of the greatest charms of Tigre is precisely that combination between nature, cultural activity and daily life.

The river is always present, accompanying every walk and providing a special tranquility that invites you to stay a little longer.

That Saturday there were no great monuments or extraordinary excursions, there was something much more valuable: shared time to walk, talk, laugh, eat delicious things and enjoy each other’s company in a place that is always pleasant to visit.
