Disney: a place I always want to return to

Parks change, children grow and years pass. But the emotion I feel every time I listen to Disney music remains exactly the same.

There are places that you visit once and keep in your memory and there are others that leave such a deep mark that they awaken the desire to return again and again.

For me, Disney in Orlando is one of those places and if I could, I would return every year.

With the passage of time the excuses to travel there have been transformed. My children have grown up, so have my nephews and it is no longer so easy to justify a new visit. However, I am convinced that I will always find some reason to return.

Because Disney is not just an amusement park, it is an experience that awakens emotions that are difficult to explain.

The first time I met him I was already an adult and, perhaps because of that, I was able to appreciate even more the extraordinary ability he has to awaken the imagination, joy and emotion in people of any age.

The music, the characters, the colors, the shows and every little detail seem to be designed to remind us of something that we often forget when we grow up: the importance of preserving the capacity for wonder.

There is one attraction in particular that always moves me deeply and it is the classic boat ride from “It’s to Small World”, that ride where children from all continents sing the same tune while representing different cultures of the world.

Every time I walk through it I feel an emotion that is difficult to describe.

The music, the colors, the innocence of the message and that idea of ​​a world united in its diversity manage to touch some very deep chord in my heart.

I always finish that journey with tears in my eyes and not because of sadness, but because of the enormous emotion it generates in me.

Over the years I have been fortunate to experience Disney in many different ways.

I shared it with my children, who were able to discover that magical universe with the wonder that only children have.

Seeing their faces as they meet the characters, go on the rides, or watch the parades is one of those memories that I will cherish forever.

I also had the enormous joy of visiting it with my four nephews and seeing each of them living the experience in a different way, depending on their age and personality.

Being able to accompany them during such special moments of their childhood and adolescence was a wonderful gift that I will always appreciate.

And as if that were not enough, I also had the opportunity to share Disney with my parents.

Watching them enjoy the shows, walk down Main Street, get excited about the fireworks, or simply observe the happiness of the entire family together made those visits take on even deeper meaning.

When I look at the photographs of those trips, I don’t only remember the castles, the characters or the roller coasters but I also remember the laughter, the hugs, the endless walks, the shared emotions and the happiness of having lived those experiences with the people I love most.

That’s why I still think that Disney is one of the most extraordinary places I’ve ever known.

Not because it is perfect, but because it has the ability to remind us that we are never too old to get excited, to dream or to believe, even for a few days, that magic exists.

And maybe that’s the reason I always want to come back.
