Gardens by the Bay: a night under a forest of lights

I had seen countless photographs of the gigantic Supertrees at Gardens by the Bay in Singapore and knew that every night they put on a light and music show.

However, no image or video can convey what it really feels like to be there.

When night began to fall we looked for a place to lie down looking up at the sky like many people do and, at the established time, the enormous structures began to slowly light up, while the music enveloped the entire park.

For a few minutes I stopped thinking about everything.

I just looked up, watching how the trees seemed to come to life to the rhythm of each melody.

The colors changed constantly, creating a hypnotic spectacle over the Singapore sky.

It was impossible not to get excited.

Perhaps because the place is beautiful, perhaps because the combination of nature, architecture and technology is almost perfect, or perhaps because I was sharing that moment with one of the most important people in my life: my daughter.

That night in June 2026 was one of those experiences that will be recorded forever.

As we lay on the floor, surrounded by people from different parts of the world who, like us, looked up at the sky in silence, I felt that time seemed to stop.

Languages ​​or cultural differences did not matter since for a few minutes we all shared the same amazement.

What surprised me most was seeing how Singapore managed to integrate nature with innovation in a unique way, since the Supertrees are not just a work of engineering; They are a symbol of a city that imagines the future without forgetting the importance of green spaces and beauty.

At the end of the show, no one got up immediately since almost all of us present remained a few moments longer looking at those illuminated structures, as if we wanted to prolong the magic of that moment a little.

Gardens by the Bay gave me much more than a light show. It gave me one of the most exciting memories of this trip to Southeast Asia.

Because some places are photographed, others are contemplated and a few, like this one, are felt with the heart.
