Cartagena: a trip between friends, reunions and the Caribbean Sea

Cartagena de Indias was the scene of a very special trip, one of those that is not measured only in places visited but in moments shared.

I traveled with two lifelong friends, with whom I am united by a long history of years, of shared life and affections that remain intact over time.

They were joined by two other dear friends who live in New York, with whom we met again directly at the destination.

That crossroads made the journey begin, in reality, long before arriving.

The reunion was as nice as expected: hugs, laughter and the feeling that time had not passed.

From that moment, Cartagena became a collective trip, full of energy, endless talks and shared plans.

The city welcomed us with its unmistakable charm. Its colorful streets, balconies full of flowers and warm climate created the perfect setting for some intense and happy days.

Walking through the historic center was like entering another era, between walls, squares and sunsets that seemed painted.

During the trip we did different excursions, each with its own charm, but one of the most special moments was a dinner on a boat, sailing through the bay of Cartagena, with music, lights and a warm breeze that accompanied the night.

Eating while the water gently surrounded the boat was a unique, almost magical experience, where everything seemed to flow effortlessly.

There was also time to enjoy the city by day, its beaches, the local cuisine and those simple moments that, on trips with friends, become the most valuable: long conversations, unexpected laughter and the joy of being together without rushing.

Cartagena was not just a destination, it was a meeting point.

A place where different stories crossed to form a new one, even if it was for a few days.

And as with truly special trips, what remains are not only the images, but the feeling of having experienced something unrepeatable.

Cartagena, with its heat, its color and its energy, gave us just that: a trip with friends that is already part of our most beautiful memories.
