New York: a city I always want to return to
Among the destinations I most like to return to, New York occupies a privileged place.
It is a vibrant, intense and changing city, where each visit seems to become a completely new trip.
I have traveled accompanied by my sister, by my family, alone and also to visit my daughter when she lived there for a time.

I have visited it in summer, autumn, spring and winter and each season showed me a different city, as if New York had the ability to permanently reinvent itself.
Maybe that’s why I always think about coming back, because you never really get to know New York.
Each visit brings something new and each trip leaves a different memory.

One of my favorite places is, without a doubt, Central Park.
I have walked its trails during all seasons of the year.
I have seen it covered in the warm colors of fall, full of flowers in spring, vibrant in summer and completely white during winter.

But it is precisely those snowy images that generate the most emotion in me when I look at the photographs again.

I remember those silent walks while the snow covered the trees, benches and paths.

There was something magical about that landscape, as if the constant noise of New York disappeared for a moment.
On those walks not many words were needed. The silence said it all.
And still today, when I look at those images, I feel the same peace again.
But New York is much more than Central Park.

It is the inexhaustible energy of Times Square, where giant screens, lights and permanent movement generate a unique sensation.

It is the elegance of Fifth Avenue, the shop windows that look like works of art and the buildings that one has seen hundreds of times in movies and series.
It’s the thrill of walking through Brooklyn Bridge, watching the Manhattan skyline silhouetted against the sky.

It is the solemnity of visiting the World Trade Center memorial, a place that invites respect and reflection.
I have also really enjoyed museums because New York has some of the most important in the world.

Each visit to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of Natural History, Guggenheim or the MoMA is an invitation to discover something different and they are never completely covered.
There is always a room pending, a new exhibition or a work that one observes with different eyes.

The Broadway shows deserve a separate chapter, sitting in one of those rooms and watching the curtain open is an experience that is difficult to describe.
The talent, music, staging and emotion conveyed by the artists turn every performance into an unforgettable memory. I especially remember seeing Evita, starring Ricky Martin and Elena Roger.
As an Argentinian, it was very exciting to witness a play inspired by the life of Eva Perón in the heart of Broadway, and even more exciting to see an Argentine actress playing such an emblematic role.

I also had the opportunity to enjoy The Lion King, Mary Poppins and of course, Chicago, one of the great Broadway classics.
But I also love exploring the city from the water and boat excursions allow you to see Manhattan from another perspective.

Seeing the Statue of Liberty, the bridges and the skyscrapers reflecting on the river offers a completely different image of the city.
And perhaps it is precisely that ability to transform that I admire most about New York. It’s always the same city. But it is never the same.

The same corner can generate a different emotion depending on the season of the year, the company or the time of life in which one visits it.
I have shared family moments there, trips with my sister, experiences in solitude, outings with dear friends, memories linked to my daughter and even a Christmas.

Each one of them remains associated with a street, a park, a cafe, a certain view and my affections.
That’s why I keep coming back, and that’s why I will continue to do so.
Because some cities are visited, but others become a special place, and for me, New York will always be one of them.
