Venice, the city that always thrills again

There are cities that are visited once and remain stored in memory as a beautiful memory. And there are others to which you return knowing that they will surprise you again. That’s exactly what happens to me with Venice.

In October 2025 I had the opportunity to visit it again and, although it was not my first visit, nor the second, nor the third, I felt the same emotion as the first time I crossed its bridges and walked along its canals. Venice has an extraordinary quality: it never ceases to amaze.

It doesn’t matter how many times you visit it. He always finds a way to spark wonder.

A city different from all

From the moment you arrive, you understand that you are entering a unique place.

Here there are no cars, traditional avenues or the frenetic pace of large modern cities. Water takes the place of streets and boats are a natural part of daily life.

Walking through Venice is voluntarily getting lost, and I think that is precisely the best way to discover it.

Its narrow streets, small bridges, silent canals and centuries-old facades create an atmosphere that is difficult to describe. Every corner seems designed for a painting or a movie scene.

During those three days I greatly enjoyed walking aimlessly, crossing unexpected bridges and discovering small squares where time seems to have stopped centuries ago.

The eternal magic of St. Mark’s Square

If there is a place that always manages to excite me, it is the majestic San Marcos Square.

Getting there continues to be a shocking experience.

The spaciousness of the square, surrounded by historic buildings and dominated by the imposing Basilica of Saint Mark, generates a sensation that is difficult to explain.

Everything conveys beauty, history and elegance.

In the afternoons and especially at nightfall, the orchestras of the traditional cafes turn the place into a magical setting.

Listening to live music as the lights begin to reflect over the city is a deeply emotional experience.

The melodies mix with conversations, the movement of visitors and the architectural beauty of the environment, creating an atmosphere that seems suspended in time.

There are moments when you feel like you are living in another era.

And Venice manages to provoke that feeling again and again.

Gondolas, canals and unforgettable postcards

I also really enjoyed watching the gondolas slowly glide through the canals.

The reflection of the lights on the water transforms each scene into a perfect postcard.

As evening falls, the canals take on a special beauty. The buildings seem to multiply in the water and the sounds of the city become softer.

It is those small moments that end up becoming the most valuable memories of the trip.

A special day in Murano

One of the most beautiful moments of this visit was the tour of Murano with my sister.

We arrived by boat crossing the Venetian lagoon and the journey was a wonderful experience. Seeing Venice from the water always offers a different and fascinating perspective.

Murano has its own charm.

Quieter than Venice, but equally elegant and full of history, this small island is known around the world for the art of glass blowing.

Walking through its streets and visiting the workshops where artisans transform glass into authentic works of art was truly fascinating.

Observing the work of those who keep this centuries-old tradition alive allows us to understand why Murano remains a symbol of artisanal excellence.

In addition, the island preserves all the Venetian essence: canals, bridges, charming squares and a serene atmosphere that invites you to enjoy every corner.

Sharing that experience with my sister made the memory even more special.

Because some trips are also forever linked to the people with whom we experience them.

A city to feel

Venice has something that enhances every emotion.

Breakfasts in front of the canals, night walks, small hidden trattorias, the sound of water gently hitting against the old buildings and the lights reflecting on the canals turn every moment into a memorable experience.

I think that’s what makes it so unique.

It is not only a city to know, it is a city to feel.

A city that constantly awakens emotions and that retains its capacity to amaze intact even after having been visited several times.

The promise to return

As I walked away, I thought something that always comes back to me after every visit.

One never really finishes getting to know Venice.

There is always a bridge to cross, a canal to discover, a hidden square or a new emotion waiting in one of its silent alleys.

And perhaps that is precisely why Venice continues to be one of the most extraordinary cities in the world.

A place that is always worth returning to.
